Standard configuration Richmond Armory rifle, 40" barrel, correct style added rear leaf sight, added Richmond brass butt plate, iron nose cap, straight threaded ramrod, no discernible barrel date & "VP" & eagle head proof are Harpers Ferry/ with broken "P", lock is dated "1863" at tail & stamped "C.S. / RICHMOND, VA" forward of hammer, barrel bands and stock are ot Richmond manufacture. CONDITION: very good overall as assembled, stock has raised grain and sharp edges, strong mechanics, bore is shot out with no discernible rifling, cleanout screw replaced with plug.
